David Lynn Woodrow, aged 73, passed away on July 28, 2024, in Gilbert, Arizona. Born on February 3, 1951, in Abilene, Texas, David was a cherished member of his community and a devout servant of his faith.
David proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, embodying the core values of honor, courage, and commitment. His time in the service deeply influenced his lifelong dedication to helping others, particularly through his active involvement in his church congregation.
David pursued and completed his education at TSTC in Abilene, Texas, and upon completion he moved his family from Texas to Arizona.
David was a man of many interests, including carpentry, reading, writing his own piano music, automotive repair, and “tinkering”. He took great joy in applying his skills to help friends and family whenever the opportunity arose. Additionally, he was an enthusiastic supporter of the sports and activities of his children and grandson, always present on the sidelines, coaching and cheering them on.
David was a loving husband to Sarah Woodrow for 43 years, a dedicated father to Warren Woodrow and Dava Decker, and a caring father-in-law to Justine (Frahm) Woodrow and Nathan Decker. He was a beloved grandfather to Chase Decker. His family brought him immense joy and was his pride and life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Estelle Woodrow, and his brother, Charles Woodrow.
David’s legacy of kindness, generosity, and dedication to his family and faith will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who had the privilege to know him.
