Dorothy Chapman entered her eternal home, at the age of 88, on January 8, 2012. Dorothy was born and raised in Merrill, MI. She and her family relocated to Mesa, AZ in 1965. Dorothy retired from the Mesa Chamber of Commerce and also worked at the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce. She was World War II Veteran serving in the US Navy at Pearl Harbor, as well as a very loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. Dorothy was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Mesa since 1965. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy, of 58 years and four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her sons, David (Valoy) Chapman of Mesa, Doug (Stephanie) Chapman of TN, and her daughter Debbie Balmer of Mesa; three granddaughters, Nicole (Lucas) Sizemore, Amber (Trey) Balmer-Memmott and Elizabeth Chapman, two grandsons Evan (Aubrey) Balmer and Leon Chapman, and two great grandchildren, Alyssa and Nolan Sizemore of TN. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Ellen Bluemer in NJ, a special brother-in-law, Verl Smith of Scottsdale, and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend its appreciation and thanks to Banner Hospice for the loving care that they have provided during these last few months. Viewing will be held on Wednesday January 11, 2012 from 5-7:00 pm at Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel, 7900 E. Main St., Mesa. Services will be held on Thursday January 12, 2012 at 11:00 am at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 3237 E. University Drive, Mesa, Arizona.
