Lawrence Gene “Smitty” Smith passed away March 16, 2010 in Mesa, AZ . Lawrence was born December 20, 1928 in Optima, OK to Howard Smith and Ethel Whaley. Smitty was a long time resident of Hutchinson, KS where he worked as a carpenter. He is survived by his loving wife Maxine, his sons Howard, Larry & Vernon, his brother Fay Dean Smith and his sister Delores Cook. A visitation will be held Saturday March 20, 2010 from 1:00-3:00 PM at Mountain View Funeral Home 7900 E. Main St. Mesa, AZ 85207 (480)832-2850 with graveside services to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
