Nina Green (nee Shybunia) went home to be with her lord Jesus Christ, on January 23, 2020 in Gilbert, Arizona at the age of 86.

She is survived by her brother Nick (Judy) Shybunia, of Canada, 7 nieces and nephews, 9 great nieces and nephews, and an ever growing family of great-grand nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband John Green.

Nina was born October 19, 1933 in Alberta Canada to Jakob and Krystyna Shybunia where she grew up with her four brothers and sisters, Sirgey, Luba, Fred, and Nick. She later moved to Niagara Falls where she met her loving Husband John who was affectionately known as Jack. They married on August 23, 1969 and then spent many happy years in Pennsylvania before Jack went to be with the lord. She then enjoyed many of her later years in the warm Arizona sunshine with her sister Luba Dari, and loving extended family including many friends and of course her church family. She was a woman who loved people, she was engaging, and made sure everyone she met was shown love. As she got into later life, she enjoyed being among the young crowds at Arizona’s Salt River Tubing Company, where she worked for over 10+ years. Her vibrancy and love of life extended from her personality down to her clothes. Nina loved music, colorful clothes, entertaining friends, and taking the time to remember each and every precious moment. It would be a rare occasion to not have a photo of your time together captured and then later shared back to you with a handwritten letter as a keepsake. She knew what was important in life and to her that was people. Her love of music was only second to her love of the Lord. She was a woman that wanted others to feel the same joy for life as she did. She had no cares in the world when she was sharing music, encouraging others to sing along with her, and talking about God’s love. She will be missed greatly.

A private burial will be held. In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask you to spread the same love Nina did by donating in her name to either The Gideons International at https://www.gideons.org/donate or to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.ALZ.org/give .
