On Tuesday January 1st, 2019 Charles H. Pankonin, husband and father of two children passed away at the age of 76. Charles was born August 28, 1942 in Omaha, Nebraska to Glenn and Inga Pankonin. He began his career in small engine mechanics which he retired from in 2004. On July 26, 1975 he married Caroline M. Michaelis. They raised two daughters Janet and Crystal. In 1986 the family made the move from Plattsmouth, Nebraska to Apache Junction, Arizona.
Charles had a love for the outdoors. Camping, boating, fishing and hunting were a huge part of his life. To be out on the lake or river waters, or in the woods were certainly his most favorite places to be.
Charles was preceded in death by his father Glenn and his mother Inga. He is survived by his wife Caroline, his two daughters Janet and husband Douglas, Crystal and husband Donald, three grandchildren Noah, Hailey, and Ayla. His brother William, an aunt, several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday January 10th, 2019 at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery on Main Street in Mesa at 2 O’Clock PM. Flowers or donations may be sent to 7900 E. Main Street Mesa, Arizona 85207.
