Nita C. Loge, 87, of Mesa, AZ passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at her home in Mesa, AZ. Nita C. Colbert was born October 31, 1930 in Marianna, AK to James and Florence Colbert. She grew up and attended high school in Marianna. Later she worked as a bookkeeper in Little Rock, AK. There she also met the love of her life, Hank Loge, who was stationed at the Air Force site in Little Rock. Nita married Hank on October 5, 1953 in Little Rock. Nita returned to Marianna, AK to live during Hank’s deployment with the Air Force to Germany. In 1955, Nita, Hank, and their two children moved to Winston Salem, NC where Hank started work with Western Electric. In the ensuing years, Nita and their family had the opportunity to live in and enjoy several cities and locations including: Pennsylvania, PA, El Paso, TX (10 years), Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Succasunna, NJ, Santa Maria, Ca, and Cavalier, ND. Nita also lived in both Gilbert and Mesa, AZ during retirement. Nita loved being a wife and mother, and doing things with her family. Nita coached her daughter’s softball team. She was an avid bowler for many years. Everywhere she went she made new lasting friendships. Nita loved dogs and every other kind of animal. She liked reading books, cooking, arts and crafts and baking. Nita volunteered at the Porter Elementary School office in Mesa every summer where she assisted with year-end closeout and beginning of-year readiness. Nita was a real no-kidding Dallas Cowboys fan and loved to go to ASU womens’ gymnastics meets. Surviving family includes: her husband Hank, Mesa, AZ; children Michael (Teresa) Loge, Andover, MN; Nita (Ron) Muth, Mesa, AZ.; grandchildren, Rob (Lindsay) Muth, Kari (Emerson) Ward, Jessica (Chris) Cejka, and Rachel Ferrall. She has seven great-grandchildren, Otto and Etta Muth, MacKenzie Cejka, Kingston, Kace, Emme and Knight Ward. Preceding her in death were her parents, and brother Curtis (Peck) Colbert.
