Robert B. Yochum, 93, of Mesa, Arizona formerly of Rochester, MN and Ottumwa, IA, died May 3, 2017. He was born October 3, 1923 in Ottumwa, IA to Christian J and Cecelia V. Rowland Yochum. Robert B. Yochum married Martha B. McElroy on May 28, 1945 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ottumwa. Robert is survived by his beloved wife Martha and two sons Bob from Austin, MN and Mike from Rochester, MN. Robert is preceded in death by his father Christian his mother Cecelia, his brothers Paul and Roland and his sister Bernice. He is also preceded in death by his daughter Patricia and son Paul. Robert was raised in Ottumwa, IA and graduated from St. Mary’s High School. While living in Ottumwa, IA he worked at Wapello Dairy. Robert was also involved in 4-H and Boy Scouts as a youth leader. In 1962 Robert moved his family to Rochester, MN where he was plant manager for Marigold Foods. Robert also loved to work with his hands and especially in his flower beds and yard. In 1979 Robert and Martha Yochum moved to Mesa, AZ.
A funeral mass will be held at All Saints Catholic Church at 1534 N Rector Rd in Mesa, Arizona 85215 on May 11, 2017 at 10:00 am. Arrangements made by Mountain View Funeral Home and Crematory located at 7900 E Main St. Mesa, AZ 85207. The family suggest donations, flowers, or memorials be sent to Emerald Groves Central 2759 N Val Vista Dr. Mesa, AZ 85213.
