Phyllis M. Frey (nee Druckenmiller), 82, of Queen Creek/Gilbert, Arizona (formerly of Elyria Township) died on Monday, September 19, 2016 at home following a short illness. She was born on April 5, 1934 in Fremont and lived in Ohio most of her life before moving to Arizona.

Phyllis was a bookkeeper for Friendly’s Restaurant, before retiring and had worked at Botamer’s Florist. She loved spending time with her daughter and son-in-law and of course her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and going to the casino.

She is survived by her daughter, Victoria (Kevin) Dawson (nee Sullivan) of Queen Creek, Arizona; granddaughter Dawn Vavla (nee Gasser), Queen Creek, Arizona; grandson, Scott Gasser and wife Elena of Gilbert, Arizona, DeeOnna (Dustin) Joviak (nee Gasser) of Wellington, Ohio; great- granddaughters, Alisa Vavla, Lily Ellis, Alexis Vavla, and Isabelle Joviak. She is also survived by a brother, Richard Dunfee of North Ridgeville, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl R. Frey, Jr. in 2011. She was also preceded in death by her father, Frank Edward Druckenmiller, mother, Garland Mohrman (nee Hartley) in 1972, and a sister, Margaret Dunfee. There will be no services.

Mountain View Funeral Home, 7900 E. Main Street, Mesa, Arizona, is assisting the family with arrangements.

    Vicki and family…..I’m so sorry for your loss….a mother’s love is so difficult to lose, and I know she will be missed greatly by your family…..I will always remember her smile and the love in her eyes when she spoke of you….

    I know she is now at peace and without pain, and may you take some comfort in that.
