Richard Floyd (Rick) Williams, 56, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013, with his family by his side in Mesa, Arizona. He displayed remarkable courage and determination, never losing his humour or faith, during his fight with pancreatic cancer. Rick was born March 23, 1956, in Princeton, IL to Floyd and Marjorie (Wicht) Williams. He attended schools in Buda and Kewanee, IL. He married Tina Camey of Kewanee in 1974, and they have two children: April Tomczyk and Jason Williams, both of Mesa, AZ, and six grand-children: Dylan, Zachary, and Hailey Tomczyk; and Richard, Mikayla and Beau Williams. Rick and his family moved to Arizona in 1986. Among numerous endeavours, he owned and operated a construction business named ‘Construction and Remodelling by Rick Williams’ for over 20 years. Rick enjoyed staying busy and spending time with his family. He enjoyed the great outdoors – camping and fishing with his family, horseback riding in Colorado, snorkelling in Hawaii, watching his grandchildren play football and baseball and vacationing with his extended family in various fun places. He enjoyed reading books and playing Legos with his younger grandchildren and simply to watch them play outside. When he did relax, he enjoyed watching his beloved Chicago Bears – win or lose he always supported them. He is survived by his loving wife, 2 children, and 6 grandchildren, as well as his mother Marjorie Edwards, and his two sisters: Kris Faulkner of Mesa, AZ and Sandy Neubert of American Fork, Utah. He was preceded in death by his father Floyd, who also had pancreatic cancer. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Mountain View Funeral Home in Mesa, AZ.
