Irmgard Handel, 58, passed away peacefully at her home January 13, 2014. Irmgard was born June 19, 1955 in Limmerspiel, Germany, daughter of Herman and Antoinette Malsy. Irmgard graduated with an apprenticeship as a Pharmaceutical Tech in 1975, in Frankfurt, Germany. Later she decided to change her career field and began working at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, ultimately becoming one of the 1st female Bond & Money Market Traders for the bank. In 1985 she met her husband Craig, and they were married on November 27, 1986 in Copenhagen, Denmark. She and her husband are owners of the Grand Antique Mall in Mesa, AZ. She was an excellent woodworker, business owner and cook. She loved to travel and enjoyed spending time at their lake home in Northern, MN. She is predeceased by her parents and niece Ashlie Hill. She is survived by her husband of 27 years Craig, and a brother and sister, both of Germany. Also surviving are her great-aunt Anneliese Wolf of Las Vegas, her in-laws Harold and Mable Handel, her brothers-in-law Mike (Lisa) Handel and Scott (Lynn) Handel, sister-in-law Carmen (David) Hill, 11 nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home, 7900 E. Main St., Mesa, AZ at 11:00 am Monday, Jan. 20. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Banner Hospice or Ironwood Cancer Center. Irmgard will be greatly missed by everyone that was blessed to know her.
