Edward Ray Bernard passed away on March 6th, 2014. He was surrounded by family and friends, including wife Mindy, daughter Emily, stepdaughter Hailey, sisters Mary and Sandi, and brother Joe. In his 57 years Eddie Ray was a loving husband and father, a supportive brother and friend, and a driven entrepreneur and outdoorsman. He served in the Army National Guard for six years and spent over 35 years in the Phoenix construction industry, most recently starting B Squared Builders and toasting 2013 as their most successful year to date. He lived for his family, particularly the adoring dogs and his hunting and camping trips with treasured friends. His moustache and smile were unforgettable. His generosity, courage, relentless positivity, and striking work ethic inspired all those around him. As a Mesa resident for over 45 years, a graduate of Mesa High School, a Mesa Community College student, and a Mesa business owner, his contributions to the community are notable. He was a great man and will be missed each and every day. For anyone who wishes to say goodbye and celebrate Eddie Ray’s life, a viewing was held on Saturday, March 15th, 9am at Harvest Community Church, 3065 S Ellsworth Rd, Mesa, AZ 85212 (480-354-0680). Memorial services followed at 10am. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations be made in Eddie Ray’s name to the Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative: www.sarcomahelp.org.
