Emma Georgianna Riggs passed away on October 15, 2014 at her home in Mesa, AZ. Georgianna was the daughter of Lawrence and Jessie McCullough of Hebron, WV, who are both deceased. She was the sister of Charles McCullough of Grafton, OH, Carolyn Bearden of Findley, OH, Alice Ross of Morgantown, WV (deceased), and Jimmy McCullough of Hebron, WV (deceased). Georgianna is survived by her husband Paul E. Riggs of Mesa, AZ, who enjoyed 60 years of love and being together. Her two children are Richard Riggs and Linda Lindstrom of Mesa, AZ along with daughter-in-law Vicki Riggs and son-in-law David Lindstrom whom she loved and looked on as her own children. She has four grandchildren, Dan Riggs, Dustin Riggs, Jennifer Lindstrom with soon-to-be grandson-in-law Tyler Hayes, and Jessica Garcia with grandson-in-law Alan Garcia. Georgianna was born in Pennsboro, WV, on February 12, 1932. The family lived on a farm in Pleasants County, WV, where she learned the value of a loving family. She attended a small one-room schoolhouse near the family farm for elementary school. She rode the bus to attend her 7-12th grades at St. Mary’s High School in St. Mary’s, WV. She graduated at the top of her class and continued her education at Glenville College again graduating at the top of her class. She began her teaching career in elementary education at a small rural school near Parkersburg, WV. After 3 years of teaching, she married her high school classmate Paul (Gene) Riggs. They moved to Cleveland, OH to begin married life. Georgianna taught in Fairview Park, OH for 3 years until her son Richard was born, then 3 years later Linda was born, and they were both a blessing to the family. After retiring from teaching, Georgianna assisted Paul in his construction and real estate business. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Red Mountain Community Church, 6101 E. Virginia St., Mesa, AZ 85215 on November 2, 2014 at 3:00 pm. This church was a very important part of Georgianna’s life as she and Paul were one of six couples that helped start the church 1990. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Red Mountain Community Church in honor of Georgianna’s life.
