Lois Nelson Travis Elwood, 85, was born to John and Jennie Nelson on March 19, 1929 in Chicago, IL. Lois passed away on December 7, 2014. Lois married Richard “Rick” Travis on December 10, 1948. Together they raised their family in Lake Geneva, WI. In 1983 they relocated to Arizona. After Rick’s death in 2001, Lois met and married Cecil “Bert” Elwood on November 8, 2003. Lois worked at several jobs, most significantly in bookkeeping for Wisconsin Oven in East Troy, WI and Joe E. Woods, Inc. in Mesa, AZ. She was involved in Sweet Adelines in both Wisconsin and Arizona and held positions of leadership in the Order of Eastern Star. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Travis, and is survived by her daughters, Lori Schaefer (Terry), Wendy Nowak (Ed), Carrie “Cubby” Swatek, eight grandchildren, her sister, Linda Mack Wakin (Mal), sister-in-law, Jan Castle Reed (Bob) and her husband Cecil Elwood.
