Terrence Joseph Majur, 73, of Apache Junction, Az., born in Detroit, MI to Joseph and Catherine Majur, passed from this life on February 6, 2015 after long and very challenging health issues, but never losing his positive attitude. In addition to his Mom and Dad, Terry was predeceased in death by his younger brother Michael in 1995. Terrence served his Country in Korea as a forward scout. He joined the Detroit Police Department in 1963 where his experiences included, Mounted Division, Chief’s Staff, Photo Bureau, Detective Bureau, and Patrol, to name a few. He was elected Secretary Treasurer of the Widow’s and Orphans Association where his duties included the management of a 6-story Detroit office building with banquet halls and a full restaurant. He also served his precinct as a Union Steward, and ran for President of the Union. He retired in 1993 to the thumb area in Michigan on Lake Huron and Mill Creek. Terry enjoyed his life, his friends, his dogs, boating and fishing, history, sports, photography, hunting, exploring, and anything military. Terry gave back to his Community whenever he could, an Altar boy, as a Baseball Coach in numerous Little Leagues, Planning Commission Chairman, school bus driver, and volunteer. He moved to Arizona in 2007 with his wife, Karen, to enjoy the sunshine and leave the snow behind. Because of his great personality and ability to make people laugh, Terry made many new friends wherever he went. Terry is survived by his devoted wife of 36 years, Karen, happily sharing the best years of their lives together. He is also survived by his loving son Terrence J. Majur Jr. of Reno, Nevada, a son Brian and daughter Kaylin. He was very proud and loved his three children more than anything. He also leaves behind his sweet companion dog, Molly.
