Winifred Freisinger was born on June 20, 1922 in Chicago, IL to Emily and Harry Langer. On April 25, 2015 at the age of 92 she passed away peacefully in Gilbert, AZ. Winnie (Winifred) grew up in Chicago during the Depression years of the late 1920s and 1930s. When she was 20 years old during the early 1940s she met a young man, Michael Freisinger, who just joined the Army. They were engaged on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1943, then married on June 12, 1943 and honeymooned in Pennsylvania and New York. Michael then shipped out to the Europe aWinifred Freisinger Onend WWII with the 3rd Armored Division. Winnie stayed with family and served in the Homefront effort by working in a factory manufacturing tank parts. After the war in 1946, their first child was born, Noreen, at Fort Knox, Kentucky. In 1949, Michael Alan was born in Salinas, California. Now with two young children Winnie worked at home. In 1956-59 the military family lived near Kaiserslauten, Germany, then moved to Lombard, IL in 1959. Winnie then became a Beautician, opening a successful Beauty shop. Upon retirement in the 1970s they moved to Florida, then in 1985 to Mesa, AZ. By then Winnie had graduated from Doll school and began to collect, restore and repair dolls. During the late 1980s and 1990s she helped form a Doll Club in Mesa. In 2011 after 68 years of marriage, Michael passed away. Winifred is survived by daughter Noreen, son Michael, brother Harold Langer, niece Sandra, Debbie, Melanie, nephew Jim, Randy, and Tom.
