Phil went to be with the Lord on December 31, 2020, at the age of 87, surrounded by his loving family. Phil was an Arizona Native born on January 13, 1933, in Mesa, Arizona, to Kenneth and Leah Dana and is preceded in death by his loving wife, Delores Dana. Phil loved the Lord and pursued his faith with diligence all the way to the end of his life. He served in the United States Airforce from 1953-1957 and was stationed at Anderson Airforce Base in Tucson. He was a Staff Sergeant and served during the time of the Korean War. He graduated top 3% of his class in Jet Engine school. He then returned from service to join in the family business of Geottl Air Conditioning of Mesa where he became a sheet metal fabricator and installer. He worked for Geottl for 27 years until retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time with his 10 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. Phil graduated from Mesa High School in 1952 where he met his loving wife and high school sweetheart Delores Dana, marrying her at the age of 20. Phil and Delores were happily married for 62 years. They raised 5 wonderful children; Kevin Dana, Kimberly Thomas, Kristen McLaughlin, Kurtis Dana, and Kitchell Dana all of whom will survive their father in death. One of his favorite Bible verses can be found in the book of Acts 4:12.
My brother Phil was a kind and wonderful man. He gave me so much to emulate in my life. I always admired his ability to build and repair just about anything. He always did his very best in all of his endeavors. He is a wonderful brother and he made me a better man by his example. We will be together again some day in a better place. Life here on earth is but a moment, eternity is forever. I love my brother Phil.
Thanks Hugh. Your comments about my dad are spot on. He taught me so many things as I grew up that I am forever in his debt. Kevin Dana
My brother, Phil, was so much fun to talk to and be with. He always had a hilarious story to tell or experience to share. He was happy and content and that is because of his wonderful wife and amazing children.
Thanks Aunt Debbie
I am fortunate beyond measure to have had Phil Dana as my father. I will cherish the memories with him until my last breath.
I Love you dad.
