Socorro Segrave of Mesa AZ, passed away September 11, 2021 in Hays, Kansas. She was born January 3, 1943 in Phoenix Arizona to Donaciano and Socorro Reyes and graduated from Carl Hayden Hight School. She spent many years raising a family in Apache Junction. She also lived in Flagstaff and Clarkdale before settling in East Mesa. She managed the Yellow Front Store in Apache Junction and East Mesa for years and worked at Dillard’s before retiring from Retail Management. Socorro enjoyed traveling extensively with Ed, her loving husband of 20 years. Her family was the most important part of her life and she had a special bond with each member. She loved attending her family’s activities and made a point to recognize every milestone and accomplishment they made.
Socorro is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Oscar, Ralph and Alfred Reyes.
Socorro is survived by her husband, Charles “Ed” Segrave; daughter, Ronda Gonzales (David); son, Christopher Hanson (Athena); step-daughters Venus Ross (Alvin) and Athena Hanson (Chris); sisters Carmen Reyes (Larry) and Rebecca Springfield; brother Donny Reyes; 12 grandchildren and step-grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and step-grandchildren.
She will be dearly missed by so many as she was a loving wife, beautiful mom, remarkable nana, a devout Catholic, loyal friend and a light to so many.
Final resting place, Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery, Mesa AZ.
What a truly joyful person in Socorro this world has lost. I am happy to know that she is bringing her ‘light’ straight to my Mom … there is a party going on in heaven ;).
