Francisco Valdez Cordova,84, of Gilbert, Arizona passed away on October 1, 2021. He was born on October 4, 1936 in Lampazos, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Santiago and Nieves Cordova. Francisco was raised in Mexico until he was 15 years old.
At around the age of 15, he started his work career as a migrant worker. He then worked at Simplot Silica for 25 years before retiring. He was an avid baseball lover, enjoyed fishing and a good cookout surrounded by family and friends.
Francisco is preceded in death by his loving wife, Margarita, his parents, three brothers, one sister and one great grandson.
He is survived by his ten children, Irma Reyes, Domingo (Sylvia) Reyes, Genoveva (David) Gonzalez, Francisca Musgrove, Oralia (Roy) Muns, Emilio (Veronica) Cordova, Emeterio (Rosa) Cordova, Ofelia (Leonard) Hernandez, Leslie (Guy) Nowak, Sylvia (Ismael) Villarreal, 45 grandchildren, 110 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
A visitation for Francisco will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery, 7900 E. Main St. Mesa, Arizona, 85207. A reception will immediately follow the burial at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1155 E. Ray Rd. Gilbert, Arizona 85296.
