Maxine Vinca (née Bailey), 81, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2021, in Scottsdale, Arizona.  Maxine was born on March 31, 1940, in Breaks, Virginia to Ruby Pebble Bailey (née Coleman) and Cecil Bailey.  She was the third oldest of nine children and was raised in Breaks, Virginia.  She thrived with the hard work that came with living on a farm.  Maxine graduated from Grundy High School in 1958 and moved to Lakewood, Ohio.

In September 1964, Maxine married the love of her life, James Vinca.  Together they had a son and a daughter, Jeffrey Vinca and Stephanie Sandell (née Vinca).  Maxine and James lived happily in Strongsville, Ohio until 2005 when they followed Jeffrey and Stephanie to Phoenix, Arizona.

Maxine was clever and generous and was able to find the humor in any situation.  She was extremely nurturing and was happiest when she was around children.  She worked for Ohio Bell for a number of years until finally settling on the career that allowed her to do what she loved the most– caring for children.  She was a Nanny for many years both in Ohio and Arizona, enriching the lives of all those she cared for, and was a devoted caregiver to her own mother.

Maxine loved her family with everything she had, just as they loved her.  She lives on in the hearts of her family and friends.  She is survived by four siblings and their spouses, Steven and Faye Bailey; Edward Bailey, Joanne Fields; Reba and Charlie Treadaway; her children Jeffrey and Stephanie; her grandchildren Nicholas Vinca, Alyssa Vinca, Owen Sandell and Oliver Sandell; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.  She was preceded in death by her brothers Michael and Andy; her sisters Mary and Betty; and her parents Ruby (Pebble) and Cecil Bailey.  Maxine touched the lives of so many during her lifetime and will be dearly missed every day.

All are welcome to attend a celebration of Maxine’s life on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery, 7900 East Main Street, Mesa, AZ 85207.
