Magdaleno M. Muñoz was born December 20, 1930 in Sonora, Arizona and passed away on May 13, 2022 in Mesa, AZ surrounded by family. He lived in Apache Junction, Arizona with his wife of 70 years Enedina G. Muñoz.
Magdaleno worked at Kennecott Minerals Company in Ray Sonora, Arizona for 34 years. He also worked for the Apache Junction Unified School District from 1987-1997.
Magdaleno is survived by his wife Enedina G. Muñoz and daughter Sandra (Greg) Thorpe. Grandchildren: Carlos (Rebecca) Muñoz, Adam (Amy) Muñoz, Mallory (Cory) Blackwood, Natasha (Victor) Chavez and Gavin Thorpe. Great-Grandchildren: Steve, Nathan, Hunter, Max, Maya, Dylan, Grace, Easton, Elijah and Penelope.
Magdaleno is proceeded in death by parents Jose and Juanita Muñoz, son Steve Muñoz, daughter-in-law Bonnie Muñoz, great-grandson Alexander Chavez, sister Elvira Gutierrez, brothers Ramon and Crescencio Muñoz.
Magdaleno loved Mariachi music, all sports but especially loved Baseball, spending time and joking with his family. His great sense of humor could break the tension in any room.
He will be missed by many but never forgotten.
There will be a 9:00 am visitation for Magdaleno Friday, May 20, 2022 at St George Catholic Church, 300 E 16th Ave, Apache Junction, AZ 85119. Monsignor Pinti will conduct the Funeral Mass at 10:00 am, followed by burial at Mountain View Memorial Gardens, 7900 E Main St, Mesa, AZ 85207.
Tata was a bad ass and a family Man which I believe are amazing quality’s of a true Man and that’s what He was . I loved his salsa He would make for Me and My Wife we all called it Tata sauce the best in the world . I respect and love this Man very much and my heart weeps ,but I do know he is at peace now with no pain and suffering just joy and happiness.
Tia Annie and all Munoz family.. we are completely heartbroken and send you our most heartfelt condolences. Papa Pepe and i are going to miss when he would call asking if the chilaquiles were ready! So many great memories that we all shared that will forever live in our heart. Tio rest now end rejoice with the lord and all your family and friends that have gone before you. Mr. Munoz was one of the kindest people I knew. He made me feel like family and always had a smile on his face. I am sure he is up in Heaven watching sports with Steve. You will be missed by all and I am honored to have known such a great person. God be with you and may he give strength to your family during their healing.
