John Ray Trautschold of Payson, AZ passed peacefully June 20, 2023 in Mesa, AZ. He was born August 15, 1952 in Sheboygan, WI and moved to Menomonee Falls, WI when he was eight. Graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. He worked for WITI TV in Milwaukee as a maintenance engineer and then WBBM TV in Chicago CBS for 31 years, also as a maintenance engineer. He retired to Payson, AZ. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kathy, of the home, sons Chris (Jadeyn) of Crystal Lake, IL, granddaughter Luna, grandson Joshua (mother Pam Tumibay and daughter Caitlyn) son Brian of Crystal Lake, IL, sister Lisa O’Hern (Steve) of Sister Bay, WI. Donations may be sent  to Lutheran Church Charities, 3020 Milwaukee Ave., Northbrook, IL 60062. There will be a memorial Mass for John on July 6 at St. Philip the Apostle Parish (511 St. Phillips Street in Payson) with visitation at 10 a.m., Mass to follow at 11 a.m. A memorial Mass will be held for John at St. Thomas of Villanova Parish (1201 E. Anderson Dr. in Palatine, IL) sometime in  mid to late Sept. (date to be determined). John had many gifts and talents and will truly be missed.
