George Richard Montenegro passed away in Cuenca Ecuador, August 25, 2024, after a long illness. Born in Tucson, Arizona, September 25, 1947, Rick proudly served in the United States Navy. After his service to his country, Rick pursued a career in education, employed by the Sunnyside School District cumulating as principal at Apollo Middle School in Tucson. He is survived by his wife Shannon; sons Bryce, Brandon, Ryan and grandchildren; brother Thomas Garcia; step brother Robert Garcia; cousins Franci Portillo, David Portillo, Christina Flores, Robert Flores, Peggy Flores, and Earnest Flores.
