Sally J. Carrell, 65, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024.
Sally was born in Findlay, Ohio, on September 18, 1959. She attended Findlay High School. Life presented her with numerous travel opportunities before settling down in Mesa, Arizona, where she met her late husband, Mark Carrell. After college, Sally worked as a Juvenile Detention Officer and transitioned to working in the control room at the Durango Facility in Phoenix before retiring. Sally enjoyed working with youth and she loved animals. She never liked to see anyone or any animal go hungry, so she was often seen buying large bags of pet food to feed stray cats. Sally was an exceptionally good cook. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was generous with the fruits of her culinary skills.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her younger brother Larry D. Etoll, her husband, Mark Carrell, and her youngest son, Austin Fish. She is survived by her son, Nick (Katie) Florentino, grandson, Jaxon, and granddaughter, Peyton, as well as step Daughter Eva Henry. She also leaves behind her sisters Lynn Rose and Lindy Evans. Sally is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Mountain View Funeral Home in Mesa, AZ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wounded Warriors.
