As a youth, she worked alongside her family in the Macaron’s general merchandise store her mom and dad opened in 1920. She attended Springer public schools and then Denver University where she met her dear husband George, who was in the Air Force and stationed in Denver. They were married in Springer on June 28, 1953.
After their marriage, Edna and George moved to Las Vegas, Nevada as George was transferred to Nellis AFB. They moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1955 and opened the Roosevelt Market. In 1963, they moved to Mesa, Arizona, to manage the Lillie Ann apartments. Her and George also built and managed the Glenmar apartments and were active in other property development.
Edna retired from property management in 1995, but remained active in her church. Throughout the years, she has been involved in various church ministries and loved to sing. She sang in the church choir and often performed solos. Upon moving to Phoenix, Edna and George attended the First United Methodist Church in Phoenix. After moving to Mesa, they became charter members of Velda Rose United Methodist Church, and then later charter members of Red Mountain United Methodist Church.

Edna was a sweet and giving person.
I have such fond memories of Edna Mae laughing, talking and cooking with my grandmother, Mary David Ross. My parents have enjoyed their time with her as well—she was so full of life and joy.
Growing up in Springer
It was an exciting time when Edna Mae visited the Springer UNM and sang solos .
She was beautiful, kind, elegant and loved the Lord.
She was very much loved by us all. Rest in peace lovely child of God. 🙏❤️
A dear friend of my mother. Very sad to hear of her passing. A lovely, caring person.
Oh, how I Loved you, Edna. You were always so kind and had the voice of an 😇 Angel. You walked every step with the Lord by your side and those who were fortunate to know you knew you LOVED our savior, Jesus Christ. Thank you for being such an excellent example to me growing up and being one of my Mom’s most cherished friends. She loved all the lunches, dinners, and weekly visits you had. You will be missed, but I am grateful you are out of pain and suffering and back with George, David, and your family. Start warming up the choir when we are reunited and can sing praises once again. Until we meet again, know how much you were loved. 🥰 Love you, Tava Udall
My blessed memory of Edna was when my family first met her at Thanksgiving dinner. It was the first time meeting Jeremy’s family. Edna welcomed my family with open and loving arms! I was blessed from her caring , loving, and a God fearing woman of God! I know as Christians, we will all meet together in heaven with Jesus christ our lord and savior!!! In Jesus name , amen!
