Richard William Peiffer, 83, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2025. He was born on January 31, 1942, to Gale and Helen Peiffer in Downers Grove, Illinois.
Richard spent much of his career at Danly Machine Corporation before retiring. After retiring, he moved to Mesa, Arizona, where he continued to work while also dedicating his time to taking care of his aging parents. His commitment to his family and work was a testament to his character-one marked by dedication, kindness, and a deep love for those around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gale and Helen Peiffer, and his brothers, Gale, Wesley, and Terry. Richard was a loving uncle and brother-in-law, affectionately known as “Uncle Dick” to his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Richard’s love for his family extended beyond traditional roles; he often filled the role of both uncle and grandfather, offering guidance, humor, and support to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Richard is also survived by his great friend Zella, whose friendship was an important part of his life in his later years.
Richard was never one to shy away from conversation. Known for his lively, engaging personality and his love of storytelling, he was always the first to strike up a chat and share his thoughts, often with a touch of humor that made everyone feel welcome and heard. Whether he was offering advice or simply making people laugh, his words always had purpose, and he had a remarkable way of making others feel connected to him. Richard’s laughter, his wit, and the countless stories he shared will be deeply missed.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and the kind of genuine, heartfelt connection that many only dream of. His memory will be cherished by his family, his friends, and all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
