Linda “Lynn” Ophelia Starkey, born August 13, 1938, in Rome, Georgia,
passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025, in Mesa, Arizona, at the age
of 87.
She was born to JB and Katherine Reeves and moved with her family to
Florence, Arizona, in the late 1940’s. A woman of quiet strength and
deep love, Lynn spent many years working multiple jobs to put food on
the table and provide for her three children. Her resilience and
dedication shaped the lives of those around her and inspired everyone
who knew her.
In 1978, she married the love of her life, Carlos Starkey, and together
they shared many joyful years. Nothing brought Lynn more happiness
than spending time with her family — her children, grandchildren, and
great-grandchildren — and dancing in the arms of her beloved husband.
Lynn is preceded in death by her parents (JB and Katherine), spouse
(Carlos), sister (Betty Feliz), brother (Garland Reeves), sister (Gayle
Reeves), and brother (Johnny Reeves).
She is survived by her daughter (Lisa Carioty), 2 sons (Gary and Byron
Queen), 2 sisters (Sandra England and Kathi Reeves), many nieces,
nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lynn will be remembered for her unwavering love, her fierce devotion to
family, and the joy she found in life’s simplest moments. Her kindness,
grace, and laughter leave an indelible mark on all who were lucky
enough to know her.
She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
