Nancy Marie (Sowers) Robertson, 75, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026, in Mesa. Nancy was born on May 17, 1950, in Christiansburg, Virginia. From the age of eight, she lived with her family in Newport News, Virginia, where she graduated from Ferguson High School as a member of the Class of 1968.
Nancy is survived by her devoted husband, Stuart “Doug” Robertson II, of Mesa, Arizona; her daughters, Stephanie R. Smith of Mesa, Arizona, and Deborah M. Madore of Vassalboro, Maine; her son, Stuart “Doug” Robertson III of Newport News, Virginia; her granddaughter, Haley M. Emery; and her great-grandson, Jax G. Emery of Fairfield, Maine. She is also survived by a niece, nephews, and cousins in Virginia. She was preceded in death by her mother, Edna M. McFarland; her brother, Stephen R. Sowers; and her father, Houston Sowers, all of Virginia. Nancy’s beauty, grace, boundless energy, and love of life endeared her to all who knew her. She was a shining light in the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her life’s journey was marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. Her passing has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
A celebration of life memorial service is being planned at Victory Lutheran Church, 5946 E. University Drive, Mesa, Arizona 85205. The date and time will be announced.
A private ceremony for the interment of her cremated remains will be held at a later date at Peninsula Memorial Park, 12750 Warwick Boulevard, Newport News, Virginia 23606
