Linda Helen Lewis, a devoted wife, loving mother, proud Meme, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026, after a long journey with dementia.
Born in Hartford, Connecticut, on November 7, 1946, to Lloyd and Maude Hurst, Linda’s brilliant mind was evident early on. She graduated from Hartford High School at the remarkable age of 15. Driven and ambitious, she went on to graduate from both the University of Hartford and Quinnipiac University, earning her degree in accounting. Linda brought her sharp intellect and dedication to the workforce, working for Al Alden for several years before becoming the accountant for Savelberg Construction, from which she eventually retired.
Linda’s greatest legacy was the immense love she shared with her family. She was the beloved wife of Richard Lewis, with whom she shared 43 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they raised their family and lived in Windsor, Vermont, until retirement, later splitting their time between Hubbardton, Vermont, and Apache Junction, Arizona.
For those who knew Linda, you know how deeply she loved. Her kindness, strength, and love touched so many lives, and her family will forever be grateful for the memories she gave them. Linda had an infectious smile and a gift for making people feel welcome wherever she went. She loved being surrounded by family and friends and had a way of bringing laughter, warmth, and energy to every gathering. Whether it was a holiday celebration, a backyard get-together, or simply sharing stories around the table, Linda was often the heart of the party—the one who made every occasion a little brighter and every memory a little more special.
She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 43 years, Richard Lewis; her daughters, Nicole Cowdrey and her husband, David, of Sunapee, New Hampshire; Katie Clark and her husband, Chris, of Vershire, Vermont; and Kelly Hutchinson and her husband, Mike, of Braintree, Vermont.
Linda was the incredibly proud grandmother (“Meme”) of Jake Galloway of Sunapee, New Hampshire; Brittany Roberts and her spouse, Kevin, of Randolph, Vermont; Shay Wood and her husband, Joey, of Vershire, Vermont; Erin McPherson and her husband, Ben, of Concord, New Hampshire; and Kora Pratt and her husband, Dylan, of Braintree, Vermont. She is also survived by her cherished six great-grandchildren.
Linda was peacefully reunited in heaven with her parents; her sister, Karen; her granddaughter, Ryanne; and her beloved son, Randy.
While dementia slowly took pieces of her away, it never took away the love she gave to those around her. Her family finds profound comfort in knowing she is finally at peace.
