Jeffrey “Jeff” Smith, 41, passed away at his home in Mesa, Arizona, on July 15, 2026. He was born on February 3, 1985, in White Plains, New York.
Jeff graduated from Fox Lane High School before earning his Bachelor of Science degree from Southern New Hampshire University. At the time of his passing, he was pursuing his master’s degree, a reflection of his lifelong commitment to learning and personal growth.
In 2009, Jeff proudly enlisted in the United States Army, where he served honorably for ten years and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. During his military career, he served with the 173rd Airborne Brigade’s “Chosen Few,” the 101st Airborne Division’s “No Slack,” and Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM). Throughout his service, he earned the respect, admiration, and lifelong friendship of the brothers who served beside him.
On February 2, 2011, Jeff married the love of his life, Angela (Marquez) Smith. Together they welcomed their daughter, Gianna, in October 2012.
After completing his military service, Jeff joined Renewal by Andersen, where he built lasting friendships and continued serving others with the same integrity, work ethic, and dedication that had defined his Army career. He later became an Executive Protection Manager for the CEO of one of Arizona’s largest healthcare organizations- carrying that same sense of duty, leadership, and unwavering commitment to protecting others.
Jeff had a passion for physical fitness and loved all things tactical. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gaming, and modifying his beloved Kia Stinger. A proud New Yorker at heart, he remained a devoted Yankees fan and also loved the Dallas Cowboys, faithfully cheering them on through every season. Family and friends also knew him as an exceptional cook, whose meals brought people together.
Those who knew Jeff knew they could always count on him. He was fiercely loyal, dependable, and protective of the people he loved. Whether family, friends, or strangers in need, he was the kind of person who quietly showed up without hesitation.
Of all the titles Jeff earned throughout his life, the ones he cherished most were husband and father. He often said that his greatest accomplishment was his daughter, Gianna, and nothing brought him greater pride than being her dad.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Angela Smith; his beloved daughter, Gianna Smith; his parents, Daniel and Francine Smith; his brother, Christopher Smith (Melissa Smith); along with many cherished nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
Jeff’s legacy is one of service, loyalty, quiet strength, and unconditional love. Whether wearing the uniform, protecting those around him, or simply spending time with his family, he gave his whole heart to the people who mattered most. His life was a testament to honor, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion. To those who loved him, Jeff will always be remembered as our strong, silent protector. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
