In Loving Memory of Christine Mary Kelly
October 3, 2026 | Age 75
Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Woman of Faith
Christine Mary Kelly, age 75, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Christine lived a life filled with love, compassion, generosity, and an unwavering devotion to her Christian faith. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and cherished friend whose kindness and gentle spirit touched countless lives.
Christine began her professional career as an executive secretary for McDonald’s Corporation. Later, after welcoming her two sons, Joseph and Andrew, she followed her passion for sharing God’s love by opening a Christian bookstore called The Ark in Illinois, alongside her husband, Billy R. Kelly, and her sister, Gloria Pittman. The bookstore was more than a business; it reflected Christine’s deep faith and her desire to bring encouragement, hope, and inspiration to others.
Above all else, Christine treasured her family and her relationship with God. She raised her sons with strong Christian values, teaching them the importance of faith, kindness, compassion, and helping others. She was a woman who lived her beliefs every day, never hesitating to lend a helping hand, offer a comforting word, or give generously to those in need. Her charitable spirit extended far beyond her community, as she supported causes and individuals around the world.
Christine was truly one of a kind. She had a loving heart, a giving soul, and an extraordinary ability to make those around her feel cared for and appreciated. She was deeply loved by her church community, her many friends, and especially her family.
In 2002, Christine and her beloved husband, Bill, moved to Mesa, Arizona, to begin a new chapter in their lives. Together, they embraced retirement and enjoyed traveling and sharing life’s adventures. Their marriage was a beautiful testament to enduring love, devotion, and commitment. In February 2026, they celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary, a remarkable milestone representing a lifetime of love and cherished memories.
Shortly after their anniversary, Christine was diagnosed with breast cancer. With the same strength, courage, and faith that guided her throughout her life, she faced her illness with determination. She fought bravely until the burden of the disease became too great. In her final moments, she was surrounded by those she loved most.
Christine leaves behind her beloved husband of 56 years, Billy R. Kelly; her loving sons, Joseph Kelly and Andrew Kelly; her daughter-in-law, Pamela Kelly; and her cherished grandsons, Liam Kelly and Finn Kelly. She also leaves behind her dear sister Gloria Pittman and many other family members, dear friends, and a church community whose lives were forever enriched by knowing her.
Although her family will miss her beyond words, they find comfort in knowing that her suffering has ended and that she is now resting peacefully in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Christine’s legacy will live on through the love she gave, the faith she shared, the family she raised, and the countless acts of kindness that defined her life.
She was a beautiful example of a life well lived, a faith deeply held, and a love that will never be forgotten.
“Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:21
