June passed away on February 24, 2024 at Fellowship Square in Mesa, Arizona. A celebration of life will be held on June 14, 2024 which would have been her 100th birthday.

June was born on a farm near Battle Creek, Iowa, the second child of Albert and Mary Brosamle Russell. She attended country school and graduated from Ida Grove High School in 1942 where she excelled in speech competitions (humor), drama and basketball.

June married Earl Hultgren on November 12,1943 beginning her adventures as a young wife to an Army Air Corps pilot. Having served their country as part of The Greatest Generation, June and Earl returned to Ida Grove to settle down and raise their family. June and Earl knew how to have fun and enjoyed an active social life.
Committed to her faith, June was an active member in several churches, including Victory Lutheran Church, Mesa, Arizona.

In 1968, June and Earl moved to Brainerd, Minnesota and later to Mesa, Arizona in 1978 to enjoy their retirement.

In 2020, June was honored for having the longest membership in the Ida Grove American Legion Auxiliary where she had been a member for 79 years.

June was predeceased by her husband Earl, her parents and brothers, Edward and Donald. She is survived by her sister, Rita; and her children, Mary Jo, Ann (Bill), and Jon(Dorothea); her grandchildren Kate, Josh (Lani) and Kelly (Nate); and great-grandchildren Bella, Gianna, Brayden and Asher.

To all those who cared for her at Fellowship Square, friends Pat, Bunny and Toni and the staff at Just Teazzing hair salon, niece Susan and her husband Neal, Pastor Ralph, Chaplain Don and Chaplain Susan, a special thanks.
