Arthur T. Roberts

July 20, 1933 – December 23, 2022

Arthur T. Roberts was born on July 20, 1933 in Steubenville, Ohio and was raised in Wheeling West Virginia.  He joined the Air Force after High School.  He spent from June 1952-June 1956, during the Korean War Era, as a Teletype Operator and Decoder which included a deployment in Japan.  Art returned to Washington DC to attend college and graduated from Benjamin Franklin University with a BA in Accounting. He spent from 1959-1998 in various accounting positions.  He lived in the Liverpool and Syracuse areas of New York until 2000 when he moved to Arizona and lived until December 23, 2022.

He was married to Beverly (Miller) for 23 years.  They had 3 children, Dan Roberts, MaryLu (Roberts) Hensley and Diane (Roberts) Farnam. He has spent the last 41 years with his life partner Connie Riter and loved his stepson, Jim Riter, as his own.  He accepted and loved his children’s spouses and their children, as his own. He has several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a loving father and grandfather.  He is loved by all and is greatly missed.

He always loved the game of baseball and played through High School. He also coached his son in little league baseball in the 60’s.  He loved playing volleyball at Brennan’s Beach in Pulaski, NY.  He was on different bowling as well as soft ball leagues for many years.  He was committed to helping others by frequently donating blood throughout his lifetime. He was the treasurer of the Mobile Park’s activity organization for many years and enjoyed making over 200 margaritas each year for Cinco de Mayo for the Park residents.  He also loved to travel and enjoyed playing cards, dominos, watching sports and he loved walking the several dogs that he had over the years. 

He will be interned at the National Veterans Cemetery 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd.  Phoenix, AZ  85024. His services will be held February 3, 2023 at 9:30AM
