Barbara Jane Luketich peacefully passed away on Dec. 22, 2021 in Mesa, AZ. Barbara, was born Feb. 4, 1929 in Greenfield, Ill in 1929 to parents Mildred and James R Shields. She was the second of four children, her siblings Russell Jr., Billy Hugh, Brenda.

She attended Normal Illinois college, but left when she met and married the love of her life Donald M Luketich. They celebrated 55 wonderful years of marriage before Don’s death in 2004. Most of their married life was spent in Greeley, Colorado before moving to Mesa. Survived by her are four children, Craig and wife Lisa, Stan and wife Sue, Claire, Chris, and 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and brother in-law Dean Bishop. The most important things to her were the love of her husband Don, her family, faith, and country. She was active in her community, and church through devotions to the Rosary, women’s auxiliary groups, active in Right to Life, washed altar linens, and sang in the choir. She enjoyed supporting her children in their school and sports activities and programs. She was a woman of humble elegance who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She loved music, played the piano, and taught her children how to play. She and Don loved socializing with friends through playing bridge, coffees, and happy hours. Flowers can be sent to Mountain View Funeral Home or memorial donations to Knights of Columbus #7904, St. Vincent De Paul, Hospice of the Valley.  Visitation and Rosary between 5-7:00pm Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel, 7900 E. Main St  Mesa 85207.  Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 pm Friday, January 7, 2022 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1244 S Power Rd  followed by burial at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
