Our Beloved Dad, Belford (B.J.) Bailey passed away peacefully
on July 15th, 2023. He was 88 years old. Born in Graham,

Dad also enjoyed many years of camping, hunting and fishing
with his family. He was a wonderful Husband for 68 years,
wonderful Dad and wonderful Granddad. He will be sorely

We have received many notes from family and friends of how he
made a positive impact in their lives; such a beautiful legacy.

  2. Linda Bailey says:

I’m one of those people BJ had a big impact on. He always had a “Hi Linner!” for me when I visited. I was so blessed to have both him & his beautiful Barbara Jane as in-laws. Their kindness to me will forever remain in my heart.

  3. Mike McDonald says:

I admired and loved BJ very much. His dedication to family and even extended family was very inspiring to me! I most wanted to be like him… I just could not pull it off! He was so calm, even tempered, and quiet! Was very wise… I will miss him for awhile, then be with him again! There is getting to be enough up there for a big family reunion!

  4. Mark Bailey says:

Words cannot express how deeply I miss my dad . This was the most giving man , he sacrificed his time to show me how to live mine . My childhood was spent camping and hunting and fishing. My best memories are out with my dad enjoying the outdoors. I will miss him deeply.

  5. Gabrielle waltrip says:

I met him when I was a teenager and him and his wife were nothing but loving to me and my sisters. Instantly adopted us as grandchildren. I will always cherish the love I have received from the entire family. I was lucky to have met him. Rest in love BJ

  6. Jan Warren says:

I will miss BJ. He was a good and honorable Christian man. As an uncle he was a good as they come.
He and Barbarba, and our cousins were sort of a second family to my younger brother, Perry. I am grateful for that.
I never felt uncomfortable around BJ, like I could around some other men. He was just
so upstanding. So decent. He never said anything hateful or in any way improper.
I think BJ and Barbara we’re some of the kindest, most caring people I’ve ever known. They were a pair, and BJ must have been very lonely when she went home.
But now he has gone, and I know he’s fine.
I just want Michael,Mark, Micki and Andrew to know that I am sorry for the empty place he’s left.
I also want to express sympathy to Veda, the last of the siblings.
The wonderful thing in BJs passing is he is now in the presence of Jesus, and his family members who have gone before.
    All is well.

  7. James R. Waltrip says:

Sorry to hear Micki.. you have my condolences. I’m so glad that you were there for your mom and dad in the end. You are a loving, caring woman. To me they had the best care in your loving hands.

  8. Michael J. Bailey says:

I have known this man (my Dad) for 68 years and honestly I have never met a more loving and sincere person. He and our Mother were truly of one accord, the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit guided them through out their married life, If not for them Dad could not have had the Love, forgiveness, patience and his all around calm and confident manner, he had for not only his immediate family but for all people. I only heard him curse one time in my entire life and when I did….my whole world stood still for several days this is how pure Dads heart, mind and soul was. I cannot say enough about both of my parents, I and my Brother and Sister have lifetimes of nothing but beautiful, loving, laughing and many memories that will forever be with us until our passing. We cannot wait to see you both again…..”To be absent from the body is to present with the Lord.”

    • Jerry Bailey says:

When I was told my uncle BJ passed it was a thud to my heart. Once again the world had taken a loved one from me. BJ was the most stable person in my family to be with and around. He the most perfect way to explain how things work here on earth. I’m going to miss him for ever because he loved me and and i knew it. Therefore my life was better knowing that. I hope to see the rest of his family Mark Micki and Michael some day and may God bless them

  9. Bethany Morgan says:
