Bertha Mae Strakes, 90, beloved wife of Jim, passed away on June 23, 2017 in Mesa, Arizona.  Bertha was born in Bridgeport, Texas.  She was a graduate of Mt. San Antonio College of Nursing in Walnut, California.

Bertha leaves behind her husband of 61 years, James Louis Strakes; her sister-in-law, Jean Strakes; her nephew, Louis Strakes, Jr.; her grand-nephew, John Louis Strakes Lopez; her niece, Terry Strakes Lopez; all of Seaford, Delaware; and her niece, Melody Strakes of Oceanview, New Jersey.

Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Mountain View Memorial Gardens located at 7900 E. Main Street, Mesa, Arizona 85207.

Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to St. Jude’s Ho
spital for Children in Memphis, Tennessee or to Best Friends Animal Society in Kanab, Utah.

    Jim . only met bertha a few times when I visited your home ; very kind and pleasant to talk to ; Jim l feel for you and pray Peace will overcome your loss ; married 61 years to this wonderful woman was special & all mentioned in this obit certainly are proud of you ; I am proud to be your friend !!!
