Catherine Cuomo Milo, 85, passed away peacefully into the arms of our loving Lord on December 15, 2020. Catherine was born on March 28, 1935 in Fuore, Italy to Emilia Amendola and Nicola Cuomo. Catherine completed school in Italy. Catherine married her husband of 62 years, Salvatore Milo on March 21, 1954 in Fuore, Italy, and moved to New York and started a wonderful life together. In 1972 they moved to Phoenix, where Catherine and Salvatore raised their 2 daughters. Catherine was a loving and devoted wife and had an incredible impact on shaping her daughters and grandchildren’s lives in such a patient and loving way. She truly was a pillar of strength within the family. She was a spectacular, hardworking homemaker and cook, mastering many Italian family recipes. She had endless energy, always giving her time and efforts to others. She attended 44th Street Church of God. She always taught her family the importance of following the word of God and applying his word to their everyday life. Catherine was the heart of the family and her humble and unselfish spirit will live in all of us forever. Catherine is survived by her daughter Kathy Lake (Russ), predeceased by her other daughter Luisa Ferguson. 4 grandchildren; Daniella (Derick), Tiffany (Todd), Adam (Holly), and Blaine, 6 great grandchildren, Aizley, Evan, Aaron, Cole, Xander and Christian. Because of COVID restrictions, a visitation for family and close friends in Catherine’s honor will be held Monday, December 21, 2020 12:00 p.m. at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery , 7900 E. Main Street, Mesa. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of the Valley, Parkinson’s Foundation or Pancreatic Cancer Association.
