Living to be 91 was a great achievement for your beloved Chetser because life is a wonderful gift. Think of the sequoia trees, with life spans as long as 3000 years. If sequoias are designed to live so long, why not man? The Bible provides the answer. God, who started mankind off in a lovely garden, has promised to restore Paradise under the rule of his heavenly Kingdom in the hands of the now glorified Jesus Christ. Then, mankind will not be subject to criminals, violence, sickness, accidents, and death. He promised that we will also be at peace with the animals and ‘for like the days of a tree will the days of my people be. I will bless them and their descendants for all time to come.’ (Isaiah 65:21-25; Micah 4:4; Revelation 21:3, 4) Giving us a foregleam of paradise, Jesus said in John 6:40 “For this is the will of my Father, that everyone that beholds the Son and exercises faith in him should have everlasting life, and I will resurrect him at the last day.” Until that day comes, may you and your family lean on Jehovah God to cope with your disquieting thoughts and to get comfort in all our tribulation. He is called the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort. (2 Corinthians 1:3, 4)
