Clarence Dwayne “Skip” Allen, 83, passed away on June 12, 2022 in Gilbert, Arizona. Skip was born on February 23, 1939, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Floyd and Elaine Allen. He was the oldest of 4 sons.
Skip graduated from East High School in Salt Lake City in 1957 and from the University of Utah with a BS in Accounting. Dad hated accounting and early on moved to be one of the pioneers of data processing, especially in financial services. He worked as an executive for First Security Bank, Zion’s Bank, and Bank of America. He also served in the United States Army.
Skip was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout his lifetime. He served as a full-time missionary in the Southern California Mission and again with his Wife Marilyn in the Arkansas, Little Rock Mission. He also served may years in the Mesa Temple alongside Marilyn.
Skip is survived by his Children Dwayne Allen (DeAnna), Pamela Eversole (Jeff), Mark Allen (Tricia), Jill Allen (Pattie), Allyson “Ally” Allen (Brad). His stepchildren Casie Campbell, Kristen Campbell-Jacobson (Brian), Brent Campbell (Allison), David Campbell (Dara), and Scott Campbell. His brothers Kent Allen (Irmgard), Craig Allen (Ann), and Scott Allen (Carolyn). He is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 23 years Marilyn Campbell Allen, his grandson Wyatt Allen, granddaughter Amanda Eversole, and son-in-law Brian Jacobson.
A funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Islands Ward Building, 1150 West Elliot Road, Gilbert Arizona. There will be a burial following the service at Mountain View Cemetery, 7900 East Main Street, Mesa, Arizona. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, June 24, 2022, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the Island Ward Building. There will also be an hour visitation prior to the funeral services. The funeral will also be on Zoom with the meeting ID: 944-5169-3289.
