Eleanor Theresa Smith (nee Getchius), 90, passed away in her home in Gold Canyon, Arizona on March 25, 2019. Eleanor was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was born November 29, 1928 in Passaic, New Jersey to Matthew and Lena (nee Heidenrich) Getchius. Eleanor graduated high school in 1946 in Inglewood, California. Living in Colorado as well before moving to Arizona in 1967. Eleanor loved dancing, walking, baking, and her multitude of jobs and community services she performed including being a Cub/Boy Scout Leader, a Brownie/Girl Scout Leader, Avon Representative, working in ladies fashion at Sears and Roebuck department store, Chaplain at the AJ Elks Lodge, Food Baskets during the holidays for those in need, as well as shopping for less fortunate children at Christmas time, and a Pet therapy Volunteer at Banner Baywood.

Eleanor is preceded in death by one son, her loving husband, her four siblings, and her parents. She is survived by her children, step-children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, as well as a beloved large extended family and numerous friends.
