Elizabeth Anderson, age 77, died Monday, October 15, 2012 after a long battle with cancer. She had been a resident of Arizona for the past 15 years but spent the majority of her life in Kane, Pennsylvania. She was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on October 4, 1935 to the late Duncan and Jean (Russell) McLellan and was married to Edward C. Anderson on September 17, 1955. After many years living in Kane, Pennsylvania, moved to Arizona to retire. Elizabeth loved to spend time with family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a passion for politics and loved to debate. Elizabeth is survived by her three children, David (Michelle) Anderson, Iain (Kelley) Anderson, and Dianne Ludwig; six grandchildren, Ryan, Iain, Cassandra, Meghan, Laura and Johnny; four great-grandchildren, Lillian, Levi, Konnor and Alexis; nine siblings, William (Gladys-deceased) McLellan, Margaret (Alan-deceased) Boucher, Jean (James) Bennett, Douglas (Susan) McLellan, Donald (Lorraine) McLellan, Alan (Sharon) McLellan, Alistair (Christy) McLellan, Linda (James) Paterson and Mairi (Gus) Kennedy. She is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Anderson, brother Duncan McLellan, and infant granddaughter, Tessa Anderson. A memorial service will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery, 23029 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85024 on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 2:30 pm. Chaplain Don Burgess will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Harvard Villa and Hospice of the Valley for their compassionate care.
