Elizabeth M. Wyland, born April 10, 1930 in Sheridan, WY to Burton A. and Elsa Achenbach, passed away September 13, 2016. She was 86. Known as Betty to her family and friends, she will be greatly missed for her kindness, her love of family and for her willingness to always give a helping hand. She is survived by her sister Gail Jedlund of Prescott, her daughters Ginger Bidle of Strawberry, AZ and Diana Plew of Globe, AZ along with 4 grandchildren, Chris Jones, Monty Plew, Melissa Henderson and Kimberly Moore. She also has 6 great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Dean Wyland, her daughter Karen Berry, her son Steven Wyland, granddaughter Jennifer Jones, great-granddaughter Pamela Plew, brothers Gerald Achenbach and Ronald Achenbach, and sister Edna Shaeffer. Besides being a wife and mother, Betty worked for Boeing Aircraft in Washington State and then after moving to Arizona, she worked as a nurse’s aid at Gila General Hospital for several years in Globe. After moving to Mesa, she got her real estate license and sold real estate for Farnsworth Reality for several years. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Mountain View Funeral home Chapel, 7900 E Main St., Mesa, AZ (480-832-2850). Donations may be made in Betty’s name to Cancer research.

    Aunt Betty and Uncle Dean stopped to visit with us over dinner back in the early 90s. I had told Mike (husband) about them and how special I thought they were. After spending time with them, he understood what I was talking about. Many thoughts and prayers go out to you as you deal with the loss of Aunt Betty. Truly a special person.
