Elton Lyle Miller, born August 18, 1923 died peacefully in hospice on Monday, February 11, 2013 at the age of 89. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wanda, in 2012. He is survived by his sons Jeff and Bill, his brother Charles, three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. A native of Minneapolis, MN he had spent his career working for the U.S. Post Office as a mail carrier. During WWII he served with the Air Corp in the Pacific, and later was active with the American Legion. He was an avid golfer, softball player and coach as a young man. After retiring, he and his wife moved to Apache Junction and later settled in Gold Canyon, AZ., where he continued to enjoyed golf and other sports. Both he and his wife were members of the choir at Hosanna Lutheran Church. He played shuffle board, bingo, and was involved with many other activities at the Montessa Adult Community. Memorial services are scheduled for Friday February 22nd at Hosanna Lutheran Church, 9601 E. Brown Rd. Mesa, AZ at 5 pm. A pot luck dinner will follow. No calling hours are scheduled.
