Emil J. Kmet was born April 27, 1938 in Phillips, Wisconsin passed away Friday, January 2, 2015 in Mesa, AZ. In 1956, he graduated from Phillips High School. After high school from 1958 to 1961, Emil served in the U.S. Army Air Defense. He graduated from Coyne Electronics Institute and Morton College of Electronics. He retired from American National Can Company in 2000. Emil was preceded in death by his parents Emil and Anna Kmet and his beloved wife, Edna Mae in 2011. Emil was also preceded in death by his sister Judith (John) Kozak of Phillips, WI. He is survived by his sister Dorothy (Ralph) Clifford of Mesa, AZ and son, Emil Jr of Salt Lake City, Utah and his two special pups, Buddy and Choopie. Emil was also survived by sisters Eileen (Charles) Kosina of Phillips, WI and Betty (Edward) Polacek of Appleton, WI, a step-daughter, Barbara McConnaughay of Marengo, IL, grandchildren Amanda McConnaughay of West Dundee, IL and Stephen McConnaughay of Elgin, IL one great-grandson and many nieces and nephews.
