Frances Estelle Wescott, 92, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2022. She was born on April 20, 1930, to Alfred LeMaire and Rosa Violet (Smith) LeMaire.
As a young child, Frances dreamed of dancing on the clouds. At the age of 15, she became a professional dancer and spent her summers in Chicago dancing at the Edgewater Beach hotel. She graduated from State High School in 1947. Soon after graduation, she moved to Las Vegas, NV to continue her dancing career where she met her husband of 67 years, Bill. They were married in 1949.
Frances gave up her career and found contentment as a devoted wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother. She loved her family and friends. She served at local churches, was the President of the Parent Teacher’s Association (PTA), taught art at the elementary school and played a significant role in raising her grandchildren. She was a talented artist and enjoyed painting, making flower arrangements, and various craft projects. She also enjoyed cooking and making sure her siblings received special birthday and Christmas cards with hand-written notes every year.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Wescott, her daughters Diane Wescott and Joanne Wescott, her parents, and four sisters, Delores Reynolds, Mary Inman, Alfreda Meuser and Juanita Jennings.
She is survived by her son William H. Wescott, Jr., daughter Cynthia Leone (Gregg), grandchildren Christopher Wescott (Nicole), Matthew Conrad, Michael Conrad, Elizabeth Leone, Hanna (Tyler) Fernstrom, Makenzie Leone, great grandchildren Sologne, Crew and Leonardo Chudy and Charlie Wescott and siblings Alfred LeMaire of Allegan, MI, Frank (Billie) LeMaire of Clermont, IN and Sharon Smith of Terre Haute, IN as well as many nieces and nephews.
