Gladys Jean Daniel, 87, of Apache Junction Arizona, passed peacefully at 1:30 PM on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Mountain Vista Manor surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Daniel was born on March 9, 1935, in Pitman Arkansas. As a child, she came from humble beginnings where she worked on a cotton farm with her nine other siblings. She came from a very large family and had a dream of one day having her own family in a place of her own. Her biggest joy in life was becoming a wife and mother, but also took great pride caring for her son for many years after he, at a young age, was injured in the military. Some of her many joys were out-dancing everyone on the dance floor, Elvis, cheering on the Diamondbacks, eating at her favorite restaurants, animals, pink lipstick, and spending as much time as possible with her loved ones.

Mrs. Gladys Jean Daniel is survived by her sibling Sebert Armsby, and her 6 children, son, Michael Daniel, and his wife Sally Daniel; Daughter, Barbara Cave, and her husband David Cave; Son, Mark Daniel, and his wife Joan Daniel; Son, Jerry Daniel; Daughter Cindy Lyon, and her husband Kevin Lyon; Son, Steven Daniel, and his wife Jeannine Daniel; and spiritually adopted daughter, April Daniel. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 14 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvie and Effie Armsby, and by her husband, the love of her life, James Harold Daniel.

The family would like to express a special word of thanks to the staff of Mountain Vista Manor, and her long-term caretakers Sy Luangsombath, and Ashley Singer for their many years of compassion and care.

Her warm hugs, spirited laughter, and golden heart will be greatly missed by all. We can be assured she is now resting high on that mountain, holding her husband’s hand, and looking down at all her loved ones feeling fully accomplished, prideful, and completely at peace.
