Guynn “Guy” Eeds, 80, of Gilbert, Arizona passed away surrounded by family on January 28, 2018 at his home. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 61 years, Darlene Lewis Eeds; his children, Cindy Eeds, Guynna Manley, Janell Baker, Becky Hatch and John Eeds; as well as 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 sisters, Otha Lee Cox and La Dean Schooler and brother, Garlan Eeds; as well as his countless nieces and nephews.
Born in Stratford, Oklahoma to Ardie O. Eeds and Margaret B. Eeds, his family moved to Arizona in 1941. He retired from Salt River Project after 32 years in the Power Operations Division. Guy was an avid member of several local racing pigeon organizations. He gave educational demonstrations with his homing pigeons at elementary schools in Mesa and Gilbert. Visitation will be Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 6pm to 8pm. Memorial Service will be Friday, February 2, 2018 at 11am. Both will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery, 7900 E. Main Street, Mesa, Arizona.
Family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Valley in lieu of flowers.
