Gwendolyn P. Hudson (nee Bitting) passed away at Summit Assisted Living at the age of 87 on august 16, 2024 after a long illness. She was born in St. Petersburg, Florida on March 11, 1937. She spent her early childhood in Ocala and Plant City, Florida. She then moved with her parents and sister Gloria to Tempe, AZ. She met her husband at the Round Up Drive-in, in Phx. Larry was the manager and she was working at the gate. Later she completed her education at Mesa Community College and technical training for a position at Motorola. where she was admired by all for her knowledge and work ethic. When she retired, she was in management there.

Gwen and Larry married and moved to Mesa. They raised their 3 of their older children there. They took an opportunity to start a plumbing contracting business in Pinetop Lakeside and moved up there with their youngest son, Ronny. They were in business together for 17 years. After they sold the business, then retired to Mesa. Bought a motorhome and travel to all the lower 48 states and had many adventures. When traveling life stopped, they spent their time between Showlow and Mesa.

Gwen is survived by Larry, her loving husband of 64 years. She is also survived by her four children: Lorene Holbrook (Bruce), Dean Hudson (Kris), Cindy Waters (Keith) and Ronny Hudson (Barbie). and her two sisters, Joan Bragg, Gloria Bitting and Harriet Nelson, close family friend. Her brother, Sgt John Bitting proceeded her in death. Also surviving Gwen are 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren – great grandchild Madalyn proceeded her in death and 9 great, great grandchildren.

Gwen will be missed by her extended family and friends across Arizona and this country.

Services to be help on August 24, 2024 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 618 South Signal Butte Road. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm with funeral services to follow.
