Harry Lawrence White, 84, was born on May 6, 1939, and passed away in Mesa, Arizona on February 5, 2024. Larry was born in Miami, Arizona to Howard and Mary White and grew up in Mesa, Arizona where he lived for most of his life. He attended Mesa High School where he met the love of his life, Patty. Throughout his high school years, he played baseball, enjoyed singing in the choir, and graduated in 1957. He attended the University of Arizona and obtained a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Pharmacy. He then went on to receive his pharmacy license in California and lived in Santa Barbara for a short time before moving back to Arizona.
Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He had a passion for traveling and taking long vacations with his family all over the country. He was a huge sports fan and enjoyed watching the Suns, the Cardinals, and the Diamondbacks. Larry enjoyed spending time with his family, his 3 grandchildren and his great grandson.
Larry was a devoted and loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Pat White, his two daughters, Kim Newton (husband, Kyle,) and Wendy Babinski (husband, Rich), his daughter-in-law, Diane White and his three grandchildren, Jake, Elizabeth, and Emma, and his great-grandchild, Micah. Larry was preceded in death by his two sons Larry Jr. and Brad.
When I passed Larry in the halls of Mesa High and exchanged “hi’s,” I didn’t know we were “related,” until one day my sister-in-law asked if I knew Lawrence White. I said we were in the same class. Betty said, “He’s my cousin,” and added. “He’s certainly good looking.” My brother laughed and said, “Aren’t all your relatives?”
Dep[ending on when the Whites left Miami, I might have have been in kindergarten through second grade with Larry, and didn’t know it.
