Ira “Cyril” Aspden, was born in Gordon, NE on August 27, 1950 to Ira and Zelda Aspden. He passed away on Dec 11, 2020 in Gilbert, AZ.
Cyril was raised on a farm in Hay Springs, NE until he was 16 years old. He then moved to Chadron, NE and later relocated to Rapid City, SD until 1979 when he moved to Arizona.
He attended Grade school and High School in Hay Springs, NE. He also took some college courses in Chadron, NE. He had numerous certificates in mechanics, A/C, diesel, home inspection, and sales.
Cyril worked as a mechanic when he moved to Rapid City, SD. He worked at Rapid City Implement where he met his wife, Sharon, of 45 years. He became a shop manager at a cement company, and later owned his own business, building cement truck mixer drums, for several years. Eventually he went into sales and became a regional sales manager in the trucking industry and traveled throughout the state.
Cyril was an avid hunter who enjoyed camping alone or with his brother, Jim. He and Sharon enjoyed four wheeling and would take visitors or their grandkids on their trips throughout Arizona. He liked fishing and anything to do with the outdoors. He and Sharon also remodeled several homes together in AZ and SD. He always enjoyed any wood working projects and was always proud to show what he had built or repaired for someone. He was very handy and could fix just about anything, from plumbing to electricity and construction. His grandkids, Brianna, and Wyatt were his pride and joy and he loved being able to teach them things. He was always on the go, and never wasted a second, even when he was watching TV, he was always jumping up during commercials to take care of something. He always used to say he may have retired but that now he worked for his wife. He was always self-motivated on everything except for their ‘35 Chevy, which still sits in the garage.
Cyril was preceded in death by his maternal and fraternal grandparents, Ira Aspden (Father), Zelda Aspden (Mother).
He is survived by Sharon Aspden (Wife), Jill Noble/Dan (Daughter), Brianna Noble (Granddaughter), Wyatt Noble (Grandson), Jim Aspden/Linda (Brother), Sandy Cerny (Sister), Joyce Aspden (Sister), and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The memorial service will be at 2pm on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel located at 7900 E Main St, Mesa, AZ.
