On October 18, 2021 Jacob Daniel Contreras passed away at the age of 41 years old at his home in Gilbert, Arizona.
Jacob was born on September 13, 1980 in Flagstaff, Arizona. He graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science & Economics. He went on to work for Capital Records, Meryl Lynch, Channel Intelligence, and Google.
Jacob met the love of his life, Chantal Lapointe, and they would build a life together in Chicago and Gilbert. Together they joyfully welcomed Emilienne Clara Contreras in 2019.
Jacob loved life and lived it purposefully. He would jam out loud to Jay-Z and Notorious B.I.G., he loved fishing, cheering on ASU football, and passing lazy days watching crime stories or The History channel. He loved his family and prioritized spending time with us. But he loved being a father the most and often said he never knew he could feel love like that.
Jacob will be remembered for his quick wit, his charming and friendly personality, that big smile and a laugh so contagious that he would make you giggle; but mostly he will be remembered by the way he made us all feel incredibly special.
He is survived by his wife Chantal, daughter Emilienne, mother Evangeline, father Alfredo, his three brothers Alfred, Tim and his wife Crystal, James and his wife Amanda, and sister Tracy and her husband Jesse, his nephews Jesse Jr, Chase and Jayden and his nieces Mary, Rebecca, Brooklyn, Kennedy, Ally and Abby.
Jacob is exceptional, words cannot describe how much he is missed. He will never be forgotten.
An account has been set up for helping Jacob’s Family, GoFundMe, https://gofund.me/e6cce4aa. Even a small donation could help TRACY SPUNGIN reach their fundraising goal. And if you can’t make a donation, it would be great if you could share the fundraiser to help spread the word.
To Jacob’s family and especially Chantal and Emilienne our thoughts and prayers go out to you for strength. Bob and I will always remember Jacob at Mile away campground and our Lobster feast. Great memories, great man. He will be truly missed.
With all our love,
Uncle Bob & Aunt Francine
Sending love and healing to you. Jacob was truly Superman.
Although I never had the pleasure of meeting Jake in person, I feel like I knew him through all of the wonderful stories shared by his brother, James. My heart breaks for your entire family as I know the hole this will leave in your hearts. May you find peace in the memories and know that his influence will forever be part of your lives. Please accept my deepest sympathy during this time.
Continued prayers for comfort an peace for all who love Jacob. My heart aches for the whole family.
Jacob, we never met you, but enjoyed hearing about you from my sister Nancy, Chantelle’s mom. We watched you on Facebook as my favorite niece posted pictures of your beautiful daughter, Emilienne. Our hearts are broken and saddened with your death, but we take solace in the fact that you are no longer suffering, but resting in God’s hands.
All of your family will continue to be in our prayers.
